Touching the Pulse of AI with Fingertips

“我的插画绘本已经制作好了！” 一年级学生张安琪坐在电脑桌前，“不太灵敏的使用着鼠标和键盘”，她通过语音表述，使用AI人工智能生成工具，正在完成一部绘本的创作。在“AI人工智能生成式体验” 课堂上，孩子们分组完成了从口令给予、故事创作、绘图生成以及绘本制作的全过程。当孩子们将嘴巴对准麦克风，用青涩的语言启动人工智能创作的按键，这正式他们打开AI新世界的钥匙。

"My illustrated picture book is done!" Zhang Anqi, a first-grade student, sits at the computer desk, "clumsily using the mouse and keyboard." Through verbal descriptions, she uses AI generation tools to complete the creation of a picture book. In the "AI Generative Experience" class, children work in groups to go through the whole process from giving commands, story creation, drawing generation to picture book production. When children speak into the microphone and start AI creation with their youthful voices, it is the key for them to open the new world of AI.

In the generative AI creation area, PYP senior students interact in real time with AI algorithms on the screen through input methods or strokes on a digital tablet. Tapping the "generate" button, the input "Campus Dusk When Plane Trees Shed Leaves" is transformed into an oil-painted digital artwork. The flowing light and shadow among the veins of the leaves make surrounding classmates exclaim, "It's like magic!" "AI is not a black box, but understandable mathematical language." Ivan, the main AI course teacher, holds teaching aids and disassembles the basic principles of AI deep learning for students. He compares the image recognition algorithm to "scanning at a supermarket checkout," making the complex convolutional neural network vivid and accessible. In the "AI Basics and Principles" class, students intuitively understand how machines "learn" to recognize numbers by experiencing simple network models.

In the AI dialogue practice class, Teacher Ivan guides students to communicate with Run'an PD's AI model system. When a student asks, "How to describe an autumn rain," the PD system's AI not only generates a poetic paragraph but also traces and quotes the scenery descriptions in A Dream of Red Mansions. This interdisciplinary interaction amazes students at AI's knowledge integration ability.

On the wall at the door of the third-floor AI classroom, the Future Education Center's AI course achievement exhibition is in progress. Students' AI works are designed into exquisite postcards and hung on this wall, where students and teachers stop to watch, feeling the charm of AI and the growth of students.

"Students now take the initiative to discuss 'algorithmic bias' with me, which surprises me," says Ivan, standing beside the students' work display wall. Through AI class learning, students begin to think about "machine creation and human emotion". "The course does not only teach technical operations but allows children to understand the social significance of AI, which is the IB education for the future."

润安公学首届“AI未来之星”辩论赛，经过了海选赛、淘汰赛、巡回赛、晋级赛，一直到最终的决赛。未来教育中心PYP五年级和六年级代表队一路披荆斩棘，站上了总决赛的舞台，进行冠亚军争夺战。最终，六（6）班获得冠军，五（3）班获得亚军。

The first "AI Future Star" debate competition of Run'an School went through auditions, knockout rounds, tour matches, promotion rounds and finally the final. The representative teams of PYP Grade 5 and Grade 6 from the Future Education Center fought their way to the final stage for the championship and runner-up competition. Finally, Class 6(6) won the championship and Class 5(3) won the runner-up.
