What: 本单元核心内容围绕如何介绍自己和他人,以及如何结交新朋友。本课呈现了初中生在新学期开始时如何介绍自己和他人,以及如何与新同学和老师进行交流。第一是对话练习,引导学生讨论朱晓梦的性格特点,并鼓励学生自我介绍。第二要求学生完成笔记,填写朱晓梦的姓名、爱好、暑假活动以及她对新学期的感受。第三是朱晓梦的自我介绍,她谈到了自己对运动的热爱、暑假的旅行经历,以及对新学期的期待和紧张情绪。

Why: 本单元的主题是新学期的开始,旨在帮助学生学习如何在新环境中介绍自己,表达自己的情感和兴趣,以及如何与他人建立联系。通过这些文档,学生可以学习到自我介绍的基本结构,了解如何询问和分享个人信息,以及如何在新环境中表达自己的感受。这些技能对于学生适应新环境、结交新朋友至关重要。

How: 本课的语篇内容包括自我介绍和对话练习。在自我介绍部分,学生可以通过朱晓梦的例子学习如何表达自己的姓名、爱好、经历和感受。在对话练习部分,学生可以通过模拟实际情境来练习询问和回答个人信息,如姓名、国籍、班级等。这些练习有助于学生在真实情境中运用所学知识,提高交际能力。同时,通过分析朱晓梦的感受,学生可以学习如何在新环境中表达自己的情感,这对于建立良好的人际关系非常重要。

已知:语言知识方面,学生在小学阶段已经学习了school, library等关于校园的词汇,以及like, swim等关于爱好的词汇;

未知:词汇应用:尽管具备基础,学生在词汇量和灵活运用方面存在局限,新环境适应:初中的学习环境与小学有显著不同,学生需要适应更快节奏和更高要求的学校生活。

难点:部分学生不能适应初中英语课堂的学习节奏和活动形式。

兴趣点:学生对新学校生活充满好奇,愿意探索未知,这为学习提供了内在动力。

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Lead In

Teacher shows students a picture from the textbook. Ask students the question as following:

1.        Where are the students?

2.        What can you see in the picture?

 A: I can see a girl in front of the class.

   I can see some students / a teacher...

3.        What do you think the girl is doing?

  A: Maybe she is making an self-introduction.

Design purpose: Lead in today’s topic-self introduction.

Step 2. Free talk

1. T: Have you introduced yourself before? When was that?

2. T:What do you usually say to introduce yourself?

At this moment, teacher show some examples from students, and ask student what does it include.

Design purpose: To let student pay attention to the picture and practice their ability of observation. To inspire the interest of learning how to make self-introduction by comparing.

Step 3 Pre-reading

1.        T: Can you predict what the passage is about?

A: The passage might be about a self-introduction made by a new student.

Design purpose: to inspire the interest of learning how to make self-introduction by comparing.

Step 4 While-reading

2.        Let student read the passage. Answer the question.

培优 3 黄嘉滢

黄嘉滢同学英语基础较好,每次单词听写几乎全对,平时在课堂上也特别认真与专注。每次布置作业,她都会积极完成。今天在课堂上学习了introduce yourself这一部分,该同学上课积极认真,但是在课堂上不太敢表现自己,非常的低调。在最后的show time环节,有几位同学自告奋勇的举手去讲台展示自己,进行自我介绍。但黄嘉滢同学想上去展示但是又不敢举手,我鼓励她要勇于展示自己,表现自己。在我的几次耐心鼓励下,该同学走上讲台,认真地进行自我介绍,完成得非常棒。我课后找到她,告诉她要克服胆怯,勇敢地展现自己。同时告诉她克服胆怯的方法:1. 确定自己的目标:明确你想要克服胆怯的原因。2. 正面思考:尝试转变你的思维方式,将挑战视为成长的机会。相信自己有能力克服胆怯,并且每一次尝试都是向目标迈进的步伐。3. 深呼吸和放松:在感到紧张或害怕时,进行深呼吸和放松练习。这将有助于减轻身体的紧张感,使你更加冷静和自信。4. 寻求支持:与他人分享你的感受,寻求他们的支持和鼓励。他们可以提供宝贵的建议和帮助,让你在克服胆怯的道路上不再孤单。5. 坚持不懈:克服胆怯需要时间和耐心,不要轻易放弃。我鼓励她持之以恒地练习和尝试,她会逐渐变得更加自信和勇敢,相信她能做到!
