Analysis of the Teaching Material

 

What: 本语篇选自九年级上册第六模块第一单元,讲述了发生在 Tony家庭的问题。Tony   和他的爸爸就什么时候写作业以及去图书馆做志愿者的频率等问题,因为观点不同,从而产生了矛盾。其中涉及了两大问题:一是Tony   如何平衡学习与爱好的问题;而是父子在沟通中要注意的语言和态度的问题。

Why: 中学生此阶段最常发生的问题就在于学习与生活,与他人的沟通两大难题。文章通过亲子间对各自想法的自由表达,让学生明白到,问题发生后,不应该逃避,而是应该正视问题,分析问题,并且有恰当的方式表达个人观点,学会将心比心,使用良好态度达到有效沟通。

How: 语篇的听力文本一是Tony父母发现孩子在弹吉他而不是写作业,引发对孩子学习的担忧。文本通过problem-opinion-solution   方式呈现。听力文本二则是对文本一的延续,Tony   和父亲运用本模块的目标语言,含   if的条件状语从句,表达了各自对问题的看法。语篇通过丰富的语言,让学生理解到一个合理的看法和一个良好的态度对沟通的重要性。

Analysis of the Target Students

 

Merits: Before learning this course, students   are familiar with the topic in Unit 1 of this module. They also have problems   in their daily life. They have acquired certain basic English knowledge and   listening and speaking ability, which lays a foundation for the study of this   course.

Shortcomings: It is difficult to use if-clauses to   give advice on how to solve the problems between students and their parents.

After this lesson, students are able to:

2.Students   can understand the sentences with the if-clause.

3.Students   can identify information about problems through listening.

4.To learn to   help others when they have problems and tell your problems to others.

通过听力练习获取Tony面对的两大问题,梳理Tony想要晚点写作业的理由,概括父亲认为应该先做作业的理由。培养学生获取关键信息和梳理信息能力。帮助学生在语境中理解对话内容,学习模块话题的核心语言。

【设计意图】

1.感受Tony 爸爸的态度,并得出他语气不好,让学生在文本中找出相关的话语,并从Tony的话语中了解到他的说话态度不太礼貌,从而引导学生学会正确的沟通方式,学会换位思考。

2.通过教师示范让学生进一步对if 从句有所熟悉,利用小组合作,让学生集思广益,想出更多可以向Tony提出的问题,以及想出更多相关建议,并学会使用if从句。

在本课时的教学中,歌曲导入有效地引起了她的共鸣,激发了她对话题的兴趣,积极参与课堂活动,在课堂上通过多种方式呈现if从句的用法,她能够较好地理解和掌握从句的用法,鉴于她基础较好,在后面的听力中,要求她完成听力填空,大部分单词都能完成,听力练习和对话练习环节,她的参与度较高,在从句的对话练习时,能正确完成句子,但在回答问题和讨论难点问题时,还需要更多的引导和启发。在课下,针对她的问题对她单独进行了辅导。
