为激发学生学习英语的兴趣，丰富学生学习英语的词汇量，提高学生的英语综合素质，小学部英语教研组于12月8日上午的大课间时间，在五年级开展了一次英语单词拼写比赛。

In order to stimulate students' interests in learning English, enrich their vocabulary and improve their comprehensive English quality, the English teaching group of the primary school held an English spelling competition in Grade 5 during the break time on December 8.

得知要开展单词拼写竞赛，五年级的同学们积极将英语单词进行了一次彻底的总复习。已经进入小学高段的他们在英语老师的指导下，明白了单词在英语学习中的重要性，掌握了背单词的方法和技巧，这为他们接下来顺利地完成高段的英语学习打下了良好的基础。

Knowing that a spelling contest was to held, the fifth grade students reviewed the English words thoroughly and actively. Under the guidance of their English teachers, they had understood the importance of words in English learning and mastered the methods and skills of memorizing words, which laid a good foundation for them to complete the high-level English learning successfully.

知其意方能得其精髓，同学们在理解的基础上get到每个单词的意思，然后再按单元清、按类别清，同学们在英语老师的带领下，扎扎实实地将大半本书的英语单词做了一次梳理，这为将来说一口流利的英语做好了单词的积累。

Only by knowing its meaning can they get its essence.Students get the meaning of each word on the basis of understanding, and then finish them by unit and category. Under the guidance of their English teachers, the students have sorted out most of the English words in the books, which has made a good accumulation of words for their oral English in the future.

比赛现场，同学们个个满怀激情，凝神屏息，认真审题，时而奋笔疾书，时而停笔细思，时而眉头紧蹙，时而轻展舒颜。

At the competition, all the students were full of passion, holding their breath, carefully examining the questions,sometimes writing with great effort, sometimes stopping to think, sometimes frowning, sometimes showing their relaxed face.

这次竞赛为那些平时努力学习英语的学生提供了一个展示自我的平台，机会永远青睐那些有准备的人！以下是在本次竞赛中脱颖而出的“单词王”名单：
